Campus and vibes

GVSU is a great university for specific types of people. There is a wide variety of professors and a lot of them are great!! The scenery around GVSU is beautiful. It's located in the middle on nowhere (kind of), and right by the ravines; it's very beautiful and pretty in the fall to see the leaves changing color.

Current Student

Very social community, you just have to put yourself out there right away. Greek life here is decently sized, most are great, some have inside issues. There are a lot of different clubs to join. No matter what you're into, there are people and places for you! We have lots of events around campus, especially during the first few weeks.

Current Student

Campus life night, laker kickoff, etc. The campus is very walkable, the longest walk i would say is maybe 20 minutes, but you would have to be walking really far. They have a very high acceptance rate, which this year has lead to safety concerns. The dorms don't have great security either, which is difficult.

Alumni

I went to Grand valley for my freshman and sophomore year. I enjoyed the campus a lot and all the food options that I had. I also loved how the campus is surrounded by nature. Had it not been for covid, I definitely would've stayed and finished college.

Current Student

It is very welcoming and there is something for everyone to be apart of. It is a place where you can meet a lot of people and get a good education.

Current Student

Grand Valley State University has been a very pleasant experience so far. Campus is extremely clean and there are many options in terms of activities, clubs, sports, and much more. Study spots are easy to find, most professors are very pleasant, and food options are great.
