About Northern Essex Community College

The Northern Essex Community College Department of Public Safety is committed to ensuring the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The department provides proactive patrols, basic medical assistance, and serves as a communication conduit to local emergency responders. Security personnel are available 24/7 at both the Haverhill and Lawrence campuses.

NECC's Honors Program offers students opportunities for experiential learning and presenting research at statewide and regional conferences. Students completing at least three honors courses with a GPA above 3.2 are eligible for the Commonwealth Honors Program. Successful completion guarantees admittance to the Commonwealth Honors Program at any Massachusetts state university and enhances application credentials for private four-year schools.
