The process of getting into the nursing program was difficult, but not as hard as other schools. About 105 people applied to the program, but only 40 of them were selected. Other schools have more competition, but their tuition is much cheaper compared to NNU. The acceptance into the program is based on a point system, so the top 40 make it into the program. Points are earned based on GPA in prerequisite courses and on a TEAs test (similar to ACT or SAT) that you are able to take two times.

At Northwest Nazarene University (NNU), many students appreciate the close-knit, welcoming community and the strong engagement from faculty, who often go above and beyond to ensure students feel supported and succeed academically. With small class sizes, students find it easier to connect with professors personally, which enhances their educational experience. My experience at NNU as an MBA student with a Computer Science background has been transformative. I appreciate the small classes that foster meaningful dialogue where my technical perspective adds value while classmates from diverse backgrounds teach me what textbooks cannot. Professors genuinely invest in student growth, connecting coursework to real leadership development. The program changed how I approach problems, helping me balance data, people, and purpose. NNU's integration of faith challenges me to ask important questions about how technology should serve rather than replace people.

However, some reviews express concerns about the high tuition costs and lack of diversity on campus, which can impact the overall student experience. While most students enjoy the vibrant campus life and the various events organized, there are mixed feelings about student behavior in dorms and the handling of certain disciplinary issues. Overall, NNU offers a unique blend of a Christian environment, community focus, and personalized education, making it a distinctive choice for students seeking this type of college experience.

I transferred from a public university out of state, back home to NNU and it had been a life changing shift in my academic journey. NNU truly values each student and their success. The professors take the time to learn each student by name, give out extra learning tools and resources, and encourage a healthy and happy campus lifestyle. NNU has helped me in so many ways and I am so grateful I have the opportunity to attend this university!

It has its perks, while also having some dips in the area of academics, regarding physical science professors. The food is not always top notch either but they give it their best! Housing is older and some things don’t function as well because of lower maintenance. Especially in the boy’s dorms. Overall, the institution is known for its rigorous academics and travel opportunities, and its diverse range of programs.
