Campus and vibes

Current Student

I adore Spelman! It is only my first year and I’ve already gained so much knowledge and opportunities that can help me with my career.

Freshman

Atlanta is definitely a very “alive” city so there’s no shortage of parties, however sometimes it can be annoying trying to get around the city as a whole. The curriculum is amazing, and the professors I currently have are really good at teaching and fostering a respectful learning environment, except for one of them. There are a lot of amazing people here to get to know :)

Freshman

Attending Spelman College has been one of the most enriching chapters of my life. From the empowering academic environment to the sisterhood that lifts and inspires, Spelman nurtured not only my intellectual growth but also my personal evolution. The faculty are deeply committed, the campus culture is vibrant, and the legacy of excellence is palpable in every classroom and conversation.

Freshman

That said, my sophomore year did bring a challenge: a shortage of on-campus housing. While it didn’t overshadow the overall experience, it highlighted an area for improvement. I’d strongly recommend Spelman guarantee housing for freshmen and sophomores to ease transitional stress.

Freshman

If upperclassmen housing exceeds capacity, a smooth, pre-arranged transition into offsite student housing would help maintain the sense of community that makes Spelman so special.
