In order to get into the chemistry program, you must be a hard worker and ready for failure. You must be able to accept that with research and a degree in the chemistry field it is almost guaranteed that you may fail at times. For admissions, the most important criteria would be your transcript and extra curricular activities (being involved in your community). The application process is the same any other majors, but it is selective.

Graduate student

For my program, English Education, there was no special admissions criteria. I had applied to UNH as a general English major and then after my first advisor meeting was switched to the more specific major. Within COLA (College of Liberal Arts) and the English department, there aren't an abnormal application processes that I'm aware of. I know that for nursing and business (or so I've heard) switching in is very difficult after Freshman year.
