Student reviews

Campus and vibes

Freshman

Overall a good University. The professors seem to care about their students and want them to succeed. The surrounding area is beautiful and VT is a lovely state, especially for college.

Sophomore

UVM is very much a mixed bag. I'm currently a freshman attending the business school, so my opinions may be slightly skewed. The professors are incredibly kind and willing to make time for your needs. Classes are, for the most part, engaging and professors make considerable efforts to ensure everyone understands the contents of lectures. While the business school is certainly not the most prestigious it makes up for it with effort and opportunity. Unfortunately in many other areas the school falls behind. Amenities like the gym are laughably mediocre for the cost of tuition, the dorms vary widely in quality, and Burlington is far from entertaining. If you don't have a car, good luck finding things to do. However, the most underwhelming fact of UVM is the students. Most come from sheltered middle class backgrounds and have little more to add than their physical presence. If you are looking for other curious minds this is not the place for you.

Freshman

I love UVM, everyone's been very welcoming so far. Club sports are very competitive to get into but the rest of the clubs are very fun and inclusive!
