Barnard offers a vibrant campus life deeply integrated with New York City and Columbia University. While Greek life is low-key, the campus social scene is fast-paced and intellectually stimulating, with numerous clubs, volunteer opportunities, and cultural groups. Students enjoy a close-knit community and access to Columbia's broader university life.

Student reviews

Professors

Alumni

Profesora are great and there are plenty of research opportunities available. Small class sizes. Nice location within NYC.

Student

i like that barnard has some nice profesores and interesting courses offered, while having a unique relationship with columbia, making there a lot of interactions. howver, with recent implacement of rules that supposedly enhances campus safety and life experience, many feel that their acedemic and free speech rights has been limited.

Campus and vibes

Junior

Barnard offers a lot, especially with it's connection to Columbia. Althroguh it is small, you don't feel restricted because you are in the middle of New York City. Academics are great and social scene is really fun. I would describe the culture as "work hard, play a little bit less hard."

Freshman

Barnard is a place where smart, driven women support each other and think big. You get a close community and full access to everything at Columbia.

Freshman

wonderful experience with a particular femine vibe. Small campus which means students are closely nitted. No major green space which represents a shortcoming. Most of the 4-acre land is occupied by tall buildings and sometimes people will fell squeezed in a small space. One of the main issues of the college is its endowment, which is rather small compared to similar colleges its size and prestige.
