The campus has a strong sense of community, where students feel understood and connected to their Deaf culture. About Gallaudet University

Gallaudet University provides a safe campus environment with emergency phone and alarm devices available around the clock. The school has electronically operated dormitory entrances and a 24/7 security patrol. A nighttime transportation/escort service is also available to ensure student safety.

The Gallaudet Honors Program offers additional scholastic opportunities, such as the Honors Capstone, to challenge and reward students. Honors students benefit from annual retreats, private study spaces, and 1:1 mentorship opportunities. Merit scholarships are available to Honors Students to augment their financial aid package.
