Student reviews

Campus and vibes

Current Student

I applied to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as soon as I received my ACT scores in the mail. I received several offers from different universities, but this one got my vote. I previously had opportunities to visit the campus before enrollment because my siblings graduated from UL. The campus has a really welcoming spirit, and is very supportive of its students academics and lifestyle no matter where they come from.

Current Student

My overall experience during the admissions process of applying and figuring out what I needed and how to better myself academically in order to get accepted was a fairly easy process. I received help through the faculty and staff through fast responsive emails, which really made me feel like I was actually a priority. When visiting campus, the enviorment of the school was exactly what I was looking for.

Student

There is a lot of different food choices here at ULL. They have great cafeteria food if you do not want to spend your money.they also have food places on campus where you can use the money the school gives you. They have pizza delivery if you are stuck in your room studying and if you are an off campus student, their are good cultural food places around.

Student

The food is great for the most part. A few tips for the future, 1- Don't blow through you declining balance ( Called DB and is used as money for food in various location around campus ) the first week use it moderately. 2- ALWAYS eat in the cafe Mondays for lunch, the red beans and rice is to die for.

Cost and value

Student

There are a lot of complaints about the slow rising of tuition and fees here and UL Lafayette, however, it is one of the less expensive schools in Louisiana. Paying a little over $7,000 dollars, I get to live on campus in an apartment with my two best friends, eat 12 meals a week (including weekends) in the Cafeteria, and with declining balance eat at any other food place on campus.

Student

Even though the dorm prices are a little high it is still worth the money. You get out a lot more than you put in at this school and because it is one of the cheapest schools in louisiana, they do not break your back when it comes time to pay your dues.
