Student reviews

Professors

Alumni

It was wonderful being surrounded by intelligent, well-rounded, and motivated people. Academic life is challenging and I remember struggling a lot. They don’t provide a lot of career help and there are not that many majors to choose from.

Campus and vibes

Freshman

The academics here at Wake are exceptional; however, if you are a guy who is unsure about Greek life, I highly encourage you not to come to Wake Forest. You have to be fully committed to it from the start to have a chance of getting into a frat.

Freshman

Wake Forest has a lot going for it, a strong motto, beautiful campus, strong academics and strong athletics. But, there is a glaring issue around social life, particularly for boys/men, that makes a lot of people leave or regret their decision.

Freshman

The frat parties are exclusive and there is not much else going on so the whole thing can be depressing. Most males are not happy here, except the few chosen frat boys. There is a real lack of diversity that has hurt Wake in the rankings and the Connecticut run Greek scene, that is anything but inclusive, will not help them is this regard.

Sophomore

I seriously cannot stress this enough: if you are not from the northeast and know 10-15 people already here and in your freshman class you will have a very difficult time socially. The school is already extremely difficult and if you don’t already have connections within Greek life odds are you won’t get a bid, and even if you get one you’ll likely still feel left out.

Alumni

Socially, it can be really hard to fit in because Greek life is so prevalent and if you don’t fit into that it’s hard to find a group.
